Holy Week Worship Opportunities

Worship

All are welcome to celebrate the Transfiguration of Christ and God’s power to transform all things. Many people have had glimpses of God’s transformative power in “mountain-top” experiences, and yet we are called to continue to work together to share the light and hope of Christ in the (metaphorical and literal) valley. We will enjoy special music from the Chancel Choir and Bill Schuck, Holy Communion, and prayer stations.

Celebrating our Unity in God

Bishop Grant Hagiya will be leading a special worship service to celebrate our unity under the Lord, Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit at Pasadena First UMC. You are welcome to gather and participate via livestream on Sunday, March 3, at 6pm, in the Adult Lounge. Snacks to share are welcome. You may also livestream the service from home at calpacumc.org.

Spiritual Gifts

In his first letter to the Corinthians, the Apostle Paul encourages the church to live in the unity of the Holy Spirit, who provides everyone with gifts for ministry. If you want to know more about your spiritual gifts and discern how God can work in your life for ministry, visit this online Spiritual Gifts Assessment: www.umc.org/what-we-believe/spiritual-gifts.

Bible Study

Our Lenten Bible Study, based on Adam Hamilton’s book, will spend six weeks on an in-depth dive into the life, faith, and character of Simon Peter, beginning on February 26th. Books will be available in the Church Office. Classes are at noon in the Bishop Adult Lounge on Tuesdays. If a daytime class does not work for your schedule, we also meet Tuesday at 5:30 pm in the Big Pine Church’s library. All are welcome!
