Pastor Kathleen came to Bishop in 2010, having served as a pastor for 28 years. She says “encouraging people in their faith in Jesus Christ and serving alongside the people of this church in ministry to our Bishop community, to the eastern Sierra area and to the world – is joy beyond expression!” The scripture found in Romans 8 speaks to her with its promise that we are “more than conquerors through God who loved us” (verse 37) and that “nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” (verse 39). She has a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from Occidental College and a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. With her husband, Tony, they share a love for the beauty of the Sierra mountains and enjoy hiking, reading, sports, good times with good friends, and the antics of their two black Labrador retrievers. Their two daughters, Amy and Kelsey, live in southern California and love to come visit “mom and dad” in Bishop.

Pastor Matt joined the staff at Bishop First in July, 2008, with a focus on ministry with children & families, youth, and young adults. He enjoys playing basketball, softball, and spending time in the beauty that surrounds us. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business with a minor in Computer Information Systems from Humboldt State, a MBA from California State University, Northridge, and a Master of Divinity degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. He is married to Erin, who is the Pastor at Pioneer Memorial in Independence. They have two boys, Miles who is 4 and Lucas who is 1 year old.
